Summer, August 2023

I’ve been hiking with my good friends David & Chad a handful of time but never this intense. Might be feeling this way with the recent trips because the last hike was nothing like the others. The trails been getting harder and the decision of which camera to bring also been getting harder. There’s no turning back so it’s important to choose wisely.

I decided to gear up with my Contax T2 35mm film camera. It’s much lighter than my Leica MP rangefinder camera. It’s also reliable and compact. I have this case / adjustable strap that makes it very comfortable to hike with.

If you’re interested in this hike I do have some personal tips. Leave the city as early as possible and try getting there by 10:00am. The drive was about two hours from lower Manhattan. Hiking boots with an extra pair of socks, hiking or water resistant pants, bug spray, H20, and snacks is a must. Bring a few bandanas, keep one dry at all times to wrap your camera and protect it from the elements.

Shout out to Abbie & Daniel for making it out to this special one with us.
